Pemberton Township police seek any tips in a shooting last Tuesday night in the 100 block of Phillips Ave. in the Browns Mills section of town.

At 8:26 p.m. on Dec. 15, Pemberton Township Police Department was dispatched to Phillips Avenue on a report of gunshots fired.

Responding patrol officers found empty casings from a firearm. Witnesses said an unknown person in a dark-colored sedan shot multiple rounds at an unknown white sedan. Both vehicles left in different directions, police said.

Later Tuesday night, officers found a white Mercedes Benz in the Oak Pines section of Pemberton Township which had a bullet hole in the trunk area. It was determined that the Mercedes was involved in the previous incident and had been struck by the gunfire on Phillips Avenue, police said.

The Pemberton Township Police Department is asking residents in the Phillips Avenue, Garden Avenue and West Lakeshore Drive neighborhoods to review surveillance video they may have. If they are willing to provide surveillance footage for Dec. 15 between 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m., please contact the Detective Bureau. Officer Cestare and Lt. Jay Watters are investigating.

Anyone with information about this incident or other crimes occurring in Pemberton Township is urged to call the Pemberton Township Police Department Detective Bureau at 609-894-3310 or the Confidential Tip-Line at 609-894-3352.
